Building life-saving applications through public-private sector collaboration

According to the National Safety Council (NSC), drug overdose is now the number one cause of unintentional death in the United States. To mitigate opioid overdoses, San Luis Obispo (SLO) County formed the SLO Opioid Safety Coalition. Over the last year, they collaborated with the Cal Poly Digital Transformation Hub (DxHub) powered by Amazon Web Services (AWS) to build Naloxone Now. The web application helps connect the SLO community to life-saving medication when an overdose occurs.

In this session, learn how they brought this idea to life, the importance of engaging in impactful public-private sector collaborations, and how you can leverage the Cal Poly student-built Naloxone Now application to address a similar need in your area.
